Introducing EZ-Net DSL! Speeds up to 20 times faster than modem connections - just use the Internet whenever you like - it is always ready & waiting because EZ-Net DSL connections are "always on". Until EZ-Net DSL came along, high-speed, always-on Internet connections were well beyond the budgets of most residents & businesses. EZ-Net DSL changes everything!

What is DSL - how is it different than dial-up access?

By using special technology, DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) can transmit computer data using the same line as your phone service comes in on, only much faster than a dial-up modem can. EZ-Net DSL is "always-on", meaning no more dialing in to access the Internet - you just sit down and use the Internet whenever you need to because your EZ-Net DSL connection is always active.

The great thing about having EZ-Net DSL is that you can be online, surfing the web and never miss a phone call because your Internet use is tying up the line! That's right! DSL uses the same line your phone does now, but it uses special technology to allow both your phone service and DSL service to use the same line without interfering with each other.

EZ-Net DSL is FAST! When you're connected at 768 Kbps, things happen NOW! We even offer business-class service up to 1.5 Mbps!

How long does it take to have EZ-Net DSL service activated?

EZ-Net DSL can typically be installed and activated within 7 business days, however, if your phone line is equipped with load coils, bridge taps or other devices (which is determined as part of the line qualification process), it may take longer for the phone company to remove these impediments from your line in order for DSL to operate normally.

* Equipment normally provided with EZ-Net's Residential DSL plan only connects a single computer system to the DSL service. There is NO EXTRA CHARGE for having up to 3 computers share the same Residential DSL connection, however, to connect up to 3 computers simultaneously under our Residential plan, either connection-sharing software (which is built into all current Windows operating systems) must be used or the customer can buy a broadband router (which is highly recommended) that will share the connection between multiple computers. All Business DSL packages provide the customer with a broadband router as part of the Activation Fee.

** DSL bandwidth is prioritized according to your class of service. Business data always has priority over residential data, meaning that given a fixed amount of available bandwith, business data will be routed at a higher priority over residential data. Within the business class, Gold plans receive the highest bandwidth priority - their data is routed at the highest priority over all other plans, Silver plans are routed as the next highest priority and then Bronze the next highest priority.

Are there minimum system requirements to have EZ-Net DSL?

EZ-Net DSL will work with any computer that is equipped with a standard 10/100 network card. If your computer does not have a network card, EZ-Net can provide one (and install it) at a minimal cost. As noted above, to share the EZ-Net Residential DSL connection with multiple computers, you will first need to have all computers networked together and use either connection-sharing software installed and configured on each machine or make use of a broadband router, which acts as a gateway for all computers on your local network. If you would like to know more about sharing your DSL connection with more than one computer in your home, please contact us. Business DSL plans come with a broadband router, but each computer will need a 10/100 network card installed and configured for DHCP to utilize the shared connection. Again, EZ-Net can provide and install them at a minimal cost if needed.
