Home Respite Care, Inc. is a free, confidential, supportive
care program for persons in Oconto County suffering from a life-threatening disease,
chronic illness, or progressing brain illness (Alzheimer's disease, dementia, etc.).

Care shall be provided by trained volunteers and will complement the services provided by other community agencies. Respite care is intended to help the caregiver maintain emotional and personal well being through this intermittent care giving relief. Both client and caregiver benefit from services.
Home visits are designed to give up to four hours of relief per week to a caregiver whom is assisting a family member with a serious illness, dementia or frailness.
While the volunteer is in the home, a caregiver will receive an interval of rest and relief. The caregiver may choose to go shopping, visiting, attend a meeting, go for a walk, or do whatever is restful to them.
Taking a break from the stress of caregiving is critical to a caregiver's well-being.
In home respite is free of charge and provided by trained volunteers.
Home Respite Care is dedicated to:

"interval of rest and relief". The caregiver may choose to go shopping,
visiting, attend a meeting or church, or do whatever is restful to them. Taking a

The Caring Tree Adult Day Center Provides
supervision and activities for elderly people, the chronically ill and disabled adults in
a home-like environment. It is designed to provide social activities and peer interaction
as well as relief to families/caregivers who care for an adult in their home. The Caring
Tree is a state certified Adult Day Care Center.

Day Center participants include adults who are:
- Mentally Confused: Dementia & Alzheimers Disease
- Physically Impaired
- Socially Isolated
- Frail
- Limited in their ability to function independently in the community

Day Center services offer an individualized plan of care to meet the needs of each
participant. Participants attend on a scheduled basis, and services include the following:
- Group & Individual Activities
- A Hot Noon Meal & Snacks
- Personalized Care
- Recreation
- Flex and Stretch
- Assistance with Daily Living Activities
- Intergenerational Programming
- Reminiscence Therapy
- Assistance with Transportation
- Community Outings
- Caregiver Support Group

Through the use os a supportive environment, group
activities and personal care, the center hopes to improve the individuals functional level
and quality of life, while enhancing personal independence. It will also provide families
with respite, reassurance and education. The Day Center serves as an integral part of the
community with supportive environment that promotes better physical and mental health.

A Program representative will contact the client and
family to schedule an assessment to determine eligibility. All potential clients will be
assessed in terms of emotional status, behavior, and functional ability. People recovering
in a nursing home can become client eligible as plans are made for release/discharge from
the nursing home

The program is offered from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
three days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the United Methodist Church, 165N.
Farm Road, Oconto Falls.

Their will be an hourly fee and a small meal charge.
Some individuals may qualify for support through the Cop or AFCSP programs, or private
insurance. Home Respite Care believes in serving all individuals regardless of ability to
pay. Therefore, staff will work with families to secure additional funding for families
who cannot afford the full rate.

The Phone Pal program is a daily phone call to an individual who lives alone and is elderly. The purpose of this program is to help individuals to be able to live independently. this program provides them with a measure of security through daily phone contact with someone who can react to their needs.
The Phone Pal service is free of charge and provided by
trained volunteers.
Home Respite Care, Inc. is an independent, non-profit
organization. The agency is funded with the help of donations from people like you
and fundraisers such as the "No Ball" and "The Taste of Oconto
County".
